Adhesive Dispensing Engineer

Job Description Sika’s Automotive and Industry team in Madison Heights, MI is looking to strengthen its ability to provide customers with adhesive and sealant application equipment support. Therefore, we are looking to fill the position of Adhesive Dispensing Engineer (internally titled Systems Engineer), noting this is NOT an IT role. This Adhesive Dispensing Engineer will be responsible for providing technical support to customers, as well as developing robust material dispensing strategies for Sika’s bulk dispensed materials. Key Responsibilities Work with customers and dispensing equipment vendors to verify Sika product compatibility and define new equipment requirements Support customers with guidance on proper equipment needs and by validating applications through execution of lab testing and dispensing trials Support the R&D team by defining existing application methods and by working with vendors to develop new methods and processes for application Conduct customer site visits Provide feedback to internal customers (Corporate TD/SENG, R&D, Marketing) Write and communicate technical service reports Maintain safe and efficient lab environments Develop and maintain strong relationships with equipment suppliers Provide training to customers and employees Participate in specialized fairs and conferences Able to travel 30% in support of customer support and launch activities Qualifications B.S. degree in Engineering, preferable Chemical but Mechanical and Electrical will be considered Demonstrated strategic thought Project management and planning skills Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel, and fundamental PL Fanuc programming, SAP, and SalesForce preferred Perks & Benefits 401k with Generous Company Match Bonuses Medical, Dental, and Vision Benefits Paid Parental Leave Life Insurance Disability Insurance Paid time off, Paid holidays Floating holidays + Paid Volunteer Time Wellness/Fitness Reimbursements Education Assistance Professional Development Opportunities Employee Referral Program & More!
