Shift: 2nd 2- 12 a M-TH w/OT as needed Rate of Pay: $23.57 - $26.21 STATEMENT OF JOB The Assembler FM 200 works under the direction of the ATSM Supervisor. The supervisor schedules the work and is available for consultation, but the Assembler FM-200 works independently. This individual follows a defined assembly procedure, using prints, work instructions or job sheets to assemble a variety of component parts for multiple product lines. Assures quality and type of components through various testing methods. Works with various cleaners, lubricants and adhesives. Works on Returned Material Authorizations (RMA’s). Keep various records and 100% Inspection Forms according to ESTP, ESMP, ESRP and ESQP books. Files government records and production orders. Stamps employee identification on valves. Operates lift truck on 2nd shift. Pulls/stocks own parts to/from the crib/storage. Assembles and tests valves to meet production needs. This position requires Associates placed in the position to successfully complete specific training. These training requirements can be located on the Marinette Operations Training Matrix. The company reserves the right to rotate employees to other departments or work assignments within the organization as needed based upon skill set, production needs, etc. QUALIFICATIONS Must be 18 years of age and have a HS Diploma or equivalent. Must be able to read, write, understand and apply basic math and blueprint reading. Required to walk or stand most of shift. Mechanical and clerical skills are helpful. Required to work with some average to heavy weight materials. ENVIRONMENTAL, HEALTH, AND SAFETY OBLIGATIONS Comply with the following Environmental, Health and Safety duties as a condition of employment: Comply with safety rules Attend and Participate in Safety Training Participate actively in the safety process Ask questions if something isn’t known Report all accidents and injuries immediately Submit suggestions to improve safety Know responsibilities in the event of an emergency (i.e. what to do in the event of an alarm for fire, chemical spills, tornados, etc.) Be a coach to others who are acting unsafely Attend and participate in all hazardous and non-hazardous waste trainings. Ability to recognize chemical hazardous labels. Spill management and clean-up. Air shutoff locations. Capability to follow satellite accumulation rules and requirements. Proficiency to recognize hazardous wastes in your area and manage properly. DUTIES Assembles a variety of valves and sub-assemblies according to assembly blueprints. Sub-assembles components such as O-rings and pistons with hand tools, fixtures and special tooling. Performs component testing with air pressure to insure proper actuation of parts. Sub-assembles valve caps by inserting and air testing valve to insure proper actuation. Sub-assembles a variety of actuation devices mounted on valve following prints. Checks for proper clearance of pistons and air tests for proper action and operation with inspection devices. Assembles O-rings using hand tools to insure proper actuation of pin assembly. Assembles reducing valve by sanding face of check valve body and cap assuring a smooth surface. Forces sleeve into body by pounding with hammer and insets bolt, then screws cap onto body. Secures assembly with lock. Stamps part number onto valve body. Assembles and glues valves per print or job sheet. Tests valve assemblies. Connects valve to test fixture and pressurizes with gas. Checks for leaks. Determines area of leak and disassembles and repair, reassembles and re-tests valve. Tests valves on test stand using soap solution, also further testing valve assemblies in a leak detector across town in Sentry B36. Fills tanks according to the following procedures: Following production schedules, determines the supply of proper tanks to be filled by size, checking last hydro test date. Informs material handler what tanks are needed in the fill area. Inspects for proper seating and nicks as well as excess paint to assure proper seal. Selects proper siphon tube for tank from stock. Assembles tube to valve. Places O-ring and valve over tube and lubricates parts. Inspects condition of valve thread, especially for metal shaving which can cause leaks. Torgue valve assemblies to tank/cylinder using correct tooling. Moves tank/cylinder to scale platform at filling station. Attaches proper filling adapter and hose to valve. Attaches filling hose to valves. Actuates valve to fill tanks and records amount of chemical used. Monitors scale for proper weight, making adjustments by operating a series of electrical and mechanical switches to fill and bleed off lines. Agitates tank in enclosed caged machine, checks gauge, adds nitrogen, repeat until proper gauge reading is achieved, disconnect lines and put on scale to determine gross weight of tank. Records weight (gross, net and tare) in spreadsheet located in computer. Tester for each type of tank. Spray valve with soap solution, visually check for leaks (acceptable, not acceptable). Move Tank to a rack for transportation. Stamp nameplates on a machine with required data and place nameplates with tank in the transport rack. Transfers chemical agents (tote or drum). Turns a series of valves and switches in prescribed sequence monitoring the pumping operation to assure proper completion. Responsible for reclaiming tanks and/or totes/drums as required. Monitors bulk tank level and opens and closes valves daily to prevent leakage uses leak detector to check bulk tank lines for leaks daily. Prepares tanks for shipping. Cleans tanks interior with wire brushes using drills and exterior by wiping off dirt and dust. Placing cardboard sleeve over tank and securing to a pallet, attach labels. Boxes small parts, such as brackets, adapters, etc. Performs housekeeping and other duties as maybe assigned by the supervisor. HIRING HOURLY RANGE: $23.90 – 26.21(Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, location and alignment with market data.)
