Position: Director of Nursing (DON) Location: Nassau County, New York Shift: Full-Time Salary: $160,000 – $180,000 per year

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Nursing (DON) to lead our nursing department and ensure the highest quality of resident care. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, clinical expertise, and a passion for fostering a positive, compliant, and team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the nursing department to ensure quality care and full regulatory compliance.
• Recruit, train, and retain qualified nursing staff in accordance with staffing standards.
• Develop, implement, and maintain clinical policies and procedures consistent with corporate and DOH guidelines.
• Oversee staff competencies, performance evaluations, and ongoing education.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to promote optimal resident outcomes.
• Address grievances, uphold resident rights, and maintain a safe, welcoming facility environment.
• Monitor departmental budget, resource utilization, and overall operational efficiency.

Requirements:

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of New York (in good standing).
• RN degree from an accredited nursing program.
• Minimum 2 years of nursing leadership experience in a long-term care or skilled nursing facility.
• Strong knowledge of DOH regulations, CMS standards, infection control, risk management, and QA/QI processes.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
