Part Time RN

School Nurse (RN)Leonard J. Tyl Middle School is seeking a part-time School Nurse (RN) for the 26-27 school year. This ten-month position follows the school calendar and is based on Tuesdays and Fridays only, not to exceed 14 hours per week. The workday consists of thirty (30) minutes before school and until the last regular bus leaves at the end of the day.Salary: $50.60/hourResponsibilities include:Provide direct care for all health-related injuries, accidents, illnesses, and chronic conditionsMaintain and review student health records to identify and interpret present and potential health problems to staffCoordinate and monitor student medication and treatmentDesign, implement, and monitor individualized health care plans for students with health conditionsAct as liaison between families, staff, health care providers, and community agencies regarding students' health needsAssist in planning for emergency care for illness or injury of students/staff on school premisesAssist in the control and prevention of communicable diseasePromote a healthful and safe school environmentParticipate in the establishment of health-related protocols and practicesFulfill the mandated reporting responsibilities related to child abuse and neglectPerform other non-instructional health-related duties and responsibilities as assignedKnowledge and Skills:Interpret medical information and provide school staff with an understanding of student health needsUse knowledge of child and adolescent development to support student health needsAbility to learn relevant computer softwareWork effectively with all segments of the educational community and general publicKnowledge of the IEP and Section 504 process and related school district policies and proceduresKnowledge of CT Immunization RequirementsDemonstrate effective oral and written communication skillsDCF Mandated Reporter Certification requiredPersons interested in the above position must apply via AppliTrack at
