Position Summary

The Director of Marketing and Commercial Operation serves as the marketing and commercial leader for the ellura business in the United States. Reporting directly to the CEO, this role is responsible for driving sustainable growth and overall business performance across consumer and healthcare professional channels.

This position oversees brand strategy, product lifecycle management, e-commerce, digital marketing, customer experience, and healthcare professional engagement while leading a team of four professionals. The Director is responsible for developing and executing marketing and growth strategies, managing budgets and forecasts, and ensuring alignment across marketing, medical, operations, customer service, and supply chain functions.

The ideal candidate combines strategic thinking with strong execution capabilities and possesses extensive experience in nutraceuticals, pharmaceuticals, e-commerce, or related industries. This individual will serve as the primary steward of the ellura brand, responsible for building long-term brand equity, delivering profitable growth, and advancing Pharmatoka's mission to improve women's health through science-backed solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Commercial Strategy & Business Leadership

Own the overall commercial strategy and business performance of the ellura brand.

Develop annual operating plans, growth strategies, and commercial objectives.

Translate market trends, customer insights, and competitive intelligence into actionable business strategies.

Identify opportunities for category expansion, channel development, and market penetration.

Ensure alignment between commercial activities and company objectives.

Brand Strategy & Product Lifecycle Management

Lead brand positioning, messaging architecture, and storytelling across all channels.

Own product positioning and lifecycle strategy to support long-term growth.

Oversee packaging updates, creative asset development, and brand consistency.

Translate scientific evidence into clear and compelling consumer and healthcare professional messaging.

Support educational campaigns, product launches, and awareness initiatives.

E-Commerce & Digital Growth

Own e-commerce performance across Shopify, Amazon, and other digital channels.

Develop pricing, promotional, merchandising, and retention strategies.

Oversee Amazon Seller Central operations and marketplace performance.

Lead digital marketing strategies across paid media, email, social media, SEO, and retention channels.

Evaluate and manage relationships with agencies, technology partners, and service providers.

Identify opportunities to improve customer engagement, conversion, and lifetime value.

Optimize marketing investments and channel performance to maximize return on investment.

Medical & Healthcare Professional Engagement

Lead the healthcare professional strategy for the ellura brand.

Manage and develop the Regional Medical Specialist team.

Support field teams by translating scientific data into actionable educational messaging.

Develop HCP engagement programs and professional education initiatives.

Identify opportunities to expand professional channels and office-based dispensing programs.

Represent ellura at scientific meetings, conferences, and industry events.

Customer Experience & Customer Service

Lead customer experience and customer service functions to ensure exceptional consumer support.

Oversee customer care operations and support workflows.

Monitor customer satisfaction, reviews, feedback, and service quality metrics.

Develop initiatives that improve customer retention, loyalty, and operational efficiency.

Collaborate across teams to continuously enhance the customer journey.

Ensure consistent brand experience across all customer touchpoints.

Financial Planning & Forecasting

Own the commercial budget and marketing and e-commerce P&L.

Develop revenue forecasts and demand planning models.

Partner with Operations and Supply Chain to ensure inventory availability and forecast accuracy.

Monitor key performance indicators across marketing, e-commerce, customer experience, and healthcare professional channels.

Analyze business performance and identify opportunities to improve profitability and return on investment.

Prepare and present weekly, monthly, and quarterly business reviews.

Manage external agency budgets and commercial investments.

Leadership & Talent Development

Lead, develop, and mentor a team professional across marketing, e-commerce, customer experience, and healthcare professional engagement.

Provide strategic direction, coaching, and performance management.

Recruit, hire, onboard, and retain top talent.

Establish goals, priorities, and performance expectations.

Foster a collaborative, accountable, and high-performing culture.

Support employee growth and professional development.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Life Sciences, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.

MBA or advanced degree preferred.

Minimum of 10 years of experience in consumer health, women's health, nutraceuticals, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, or related healthcare industries, with increasing responsibility in commercial leadership, brand management, e-commerce, or marketing.

Proven experience leading cross-functional teams and developing high-performing organizations.

Experience managing Amazon Seller Central, Shopify, and digital marketing programs.

Strong understanding of customer acquisition, retention, CRM, and lifecycle marketing.

Experience working with healthcare professionals and scientific communications is preferred.

Strong analytical, financial, and strategic planning capabilities.

Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.

Willingness to travel for conferences, business meetings, and field activities.
