Gastroenterologist

A healthcare network is actively seeking a Gastroenterologist for locum tenens coverage. This role involves delivering GI consults, procedures, and longitudinal care in both outpatient and inpatient settings. **About the Opportunity:** - Schedule: Outpatient clinic, inpatient consults, and endoscopy blocks - Specialty: Gastroenterology **Responsibilities:** The **Gastroenterologist (Locums)** will be responsible for: - Performing endoscopic procedures (EGD, colonoscopy, polypectomy, etc.). - Diagnosing and managing GI disorders (IBD, liver disease, GERD). - Providing inpatient GI consults and managing emergencies (GI bleeds, obstructions). - Collaborating with surgeons, hepatologists, and dietitians. - Documenting procedures and patient encounters in EMR. **Qualifications:** - Education: MD or DO from an accredited medical school - Licensure: Active and unrestricted state license - Board Certification: Board Certified or Board Eligible in Gastroenterology - Preferred: Advanced endoscopy training - Proficiency in endoscopic procedures - Strong diagnostic skills in gastroenterology - Excellent communication and collaboration skills **Desired Skills:** - 5+ years of experience in gastroenterology - Completion of a fellowship in gastroenterology - Certification in advanced endoscopy techniques - Strong analytical skills - Team-oriented approach to patient care
