Associate Attorney

Position: Workers Compensation/General Liability Attorney

Location: Indianapolis, Indiana 46204 / Crown Point, Indiana 46307 / Chicago, IL

Type: Full-Time Hybrid

Description:

We're looking for an attorney with 2-6 years of experience in Worker's Compensation (Defence) to join our team and work in our workers' compensation and/or general liability practice helping our clients with a speedy resolution of their cases.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • prepare case evaluations.
  • Prepare and file pleadings.
  • Prepare for and attend hearings/depositions, site inspections, etc.
  • Present facts in writing and verbally to clients and others and argue on their behalf.
  • Correspond with all parties including opposing counsel, clients, etc.
  • Legal research
  • Develop case strategy
  • Draft briefs and pleadings
  • Negotiate settlements
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Experience and Education:
  • Admitted to practice in IN (IL, WI a plus)
  • Trial experience is a plus
  • Intrinsically motivated, self-starter with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent research, written and verbal communication skills
  • Book of business a plus but not necessary
  • Background in civil law and workers' compensation
