We are seeking a skilled and motivated Pediatric Acute Care Advanced Practice Professional, to provide comprehensive care to critically ill pediatric patients. This role is ideal for clinicians who thrive in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment and are committed to delivering exceptional, family-centered care.The PICU Acute Care APP plays a vital role in managing complex patient populations, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and contributing to continuous quality improvement initiatives.ResponsibilitiesCoordinate and manage care of critically ill pediatric patients in the intensive care settingPerform comprehensive histories and physical examinationsCollect, analyze, and interpret diagnostic data (labs, imaging, and clinical studies)Order tests and prescribe medications within scope of practicePerform diagnostic, therapeutic, and minor proceduresCollaborate with attending physicians and interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plansCommunicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team membersMaintain accurate, timely documentation of patient status, evaluations, and treatmentsFacilitate transfers across levels of care, including discharge planning and coordinationParticipate in quality improvement initiatives and departmental projectsPromote a collaborative, team-based approach to patient-centered careRequired QualificationsRequired Qualifications Nurse PractitionerCurrent licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner specialty certification in the State of Michigan.Current specialty certification to practice as an Acute Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner.Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.Certification as a Nurse Practitioner recognized by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN).AHA approved BLS certification and PALSCurrent DEA registration requiredMinimum of 2 years of pediatric acute or critical care clinical experienceRequired Qualification Physician AssistantSatisfactory completion of a Physician Assistant program accredited by Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) or one of its predecessor agencies, CAHEA or CAAHEP.Certification by the National Commission on Certification for Physician Assistants (NCCPA).Current license to practice as a Physician Assistant in the State of Michigan.State of Michigan Controlled Substance License RequiredCurrent DEA registration requiredAHA approved BLS certification and PALSMinimum of one year of clinical experience in an acute or critical pediatric care unit, or completion of an accredited pediatric critical care residency or fellowship program. NOTE: Employment is contingent upon successful completion of the credentialing and privileging process.
