Staff Accountant

Responsibilities

Kforce has a client that is seeking a Staff Accountant in Baltimore, MD.Summary:The Staff Accountant will support the day-to-day accounting operations of the organization, including accounts receivable, cash application, account reconciliations, and month-end close activities. This role will work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure accurate financial reporting and maintain the integrity of accounting records.The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in general accounting principles, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a collaborative environment. Additional responsibilities may include supporting accounts payable, assisting with cash management activities, preparing financial schedules and reconciliations, and contributing to process improvement initiatives within the accounting function.This position offers the opportunity to gain exposure to various areas of accounting while working as part of a team-oriented finance department.

Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
• 2+ years of accounting experience
• Experience with accounts receivable, cash applications, billing, and account reconciliations
• Understanding of month-end close processes and general ledger accounting
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, and formulas
• Experience working with accounting systems/ERPs
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams
• Experience in a nonprofit environment preferred but not required

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.


We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
