Part-Time Morning Box Truck Driver – USPS Contract Route

Traver Transportation Services is hiring a dependable part-time driver for an early-morning USPS contract route.

This position is ideal for someone who already has another job, is self-employed, is semi-retired, or simply wants consistent part-time income while keeping the rest of the day available.

• Approximately 5:50 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.

• Monday through Saturday

• Approximately 3 hours per day

• Up to 19 hours per week

• Applicants do not have to work all six days

• We are open to applicants who want between two and six regularly scheduled mornings per week

This is a recurring schedule—not occasional or on-call work. Applicants must be able to commit reliably to the same agreed-upon days each week.

• Operate a 16-foot box truck on a scheduled USPS contract route

• Transport mail and postal equipment between designated locations

• Sort, load, unload, and properly secure mail containers and equipment

• Complete required vehicle inspections and route documentation

• Maintain a safe, punctual, and professional work routine

• Keep the assigned vehicle clean and report mechanical concerns promptly

• Must be at least 21 years old

• Valid driver’s license and safe driving history

• CDL is not required

• Previous box-truck, delivery, commercial-driving, or similar experience is preferred

• Must be comfortable safely backing and maneuvering a 16-foot box truck

• Must be able to lift and handle items weighing up to 50 pounds

• Must be dependable and consistently available for early-morning work

• Must complete a DOT medical examination

• Must successfully complete applicable USPS background, fingerprinting, and drug-screening requirements

• Must be available on some weekends and federal holidays when scheduled

Total compensation is approximately $32.94 per hour , consisting of the applicable hourly wage plus a federally required Health and Welfare benefit.

Additional benefits include paid federal holidays and paid vacation after meeting eligibility requirements.

This is a USPS contract-driving position with Traver Transportation Services. The successful applicant will be employed by Traver Transportation Services and will not be a direct employee of the United States Postal Service.

Reliability is essential. The mail must move on schedule every day, so regular attendance and punctuality are among the most important requirements of this position.
