Administrative Patient Services Representative

This full-time role supports cardiology clinics by serving as the primary point of contact both on the phone and at the front desk. The ideal candidate demonstrates professionalism, excellent customer service, and strong organizational skills to thrive in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities- Promptly answer and direct telephone calls with courtesy and efficiency.
- Welcome patients warmly and communicate clearly with patients and their families, keeping them well-informed.
- Accurately collect and enter demographic and insurance information into the system.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and comply with privacy regulations regarding patient information.
- Schedule appointments following established protocols.
- Assist patients and guardians with patient portal setup and encourage portal use for registration and paperwork completion.
- Make confirmation calls and provide compassionate, respectful service at all times.
- Take and process messages promptly and update patient records as needed.
- Verify insurance coverage, collect co-payments, and explain financial agreements to patients.
- Demonstrate accountability, adaptability, teamwork, and maintain excellent attendance and punctuality.
Education High school diploma or equivalent required. Preference given to graduates of accredited medical receptionist programs or candidates with two years of healthcare experience. Experience Preferably two years of experience in a general medical office or similar healthcare setting, with demonstrated responsibility and customer service skills. Certifications Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is required. Physical and Mental Requirements This position requires considerable mental focus and physical activity including walking, standing, lifting up to 35 lbs, and various movements such as turning, stooping, and reaching. The work environment is a medical office with potential exposure to infectious diseases and occasional challenging interactions.
