Lead Credentialing Program Assistant

Summary The Lead Credentialing Program Assistant serves as the C&P specialist providing oversight and input regarding compliance with VHA policies - directives - memos - notices - The Joint Commission (TJC) standards - recommendations by the Office of Inspector General (OIG) and Government Accountability Office (GAO) and other internal or external auditors and reviewers as appropriate. Qualifications To qualify for this position - applicants must meet all requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement - 10/19/2026. You may qualify based on your specialized experience as described below: Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-6 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include - but are not limited to: Experience leading and mentoring a team - including assigning - monitoring - and reviewing work of specialized staff. Providing training - coaching - and team-building to foster cohesive and high-performing teams. Experience conducting internal audits - reviews - and quality assurance activities within C&P or similar healthcare administration settings. Analyzing and interpreting program data - including report card data and audit results - and presenting findings using statistical - graphical - and narrative reports. Managing database entries and reviewing documentation for accuracy - compliance - and process optimization. Preparing and delivering analytical reports and recommendations in a clear - actionable format. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience - including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. - Peace Corps - AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g. - professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies - knowledge - and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
