Quality Engineer II
Our client, a Medical Devices / Healthcare company, is looking for a Quality Engineer II for their Warsaw, IN location. Responsibilities include assuring products conform to established requirements and standards through appropriate audit, inspection, and test activities. The role involves interacting with many different functional departments, suppliers, and experts outside the client to implement quality goals. The candidate will formulate procedures, specifications, and standards for client products and processes, develop and implement corrective/preventative action plans, collect and analyze data for gauge and product evaluation, identify critical personnel, gauges, procedures, and materials needed for the completion of new products, and ensure that suppliers have necessary information and facilities to deliver quality products to the client.
Requirements include the ability to work within a team environment and build relationships outside of the department as well as outside the company (suppliers, regulatory agencies, etc.). The candidate should be able to deliver, meet deadlines, and have a results orientation. Strong communication skills both orally and in written form to multiple levels of the company are essential. The candidate should demonstrate characteristics of high potential for future development opportunities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, blueprint reading, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, thorough understanding of QSR/ISO regulations, design assurance, FMEA, and product testing methods, and the ability to use optical comparators and CMMs are required. A B.S. in engineering or an alternative Bachelor's degree program with certification as a quality engineer (e.g. CQE) is necessary. Minimum 1 year of relevant work experience is required. Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) and medical device, particularly orthopedic industry, experience are preferred.
