Our organization is in search of a Director of Structural Heart to join the Cardiovascular Institute at a leading hospital in Danbury, Connecticut. The ideal candidate should hold board certifications in both Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology, along with specialized training in structural heart procedures, and possess at least five years of experience following their fellowship.
The hospital serves as a tertiary care center, delivering advanced, patient-focused heart care across the entire spectrum of cardiovascular health. Our facilities are equipped with cutting-edge diagnostic tools, including non-invasive imaging, echocardiography, CT and MRI scans, as well as stress testing. The interventional team is adept at performing complex coronary interventions, including a robust STEMI program. Our structural heart program encompasses a wide range of aortic and mitral valve interventions, with plans to expand into transcatheter mitral valve replacement (TMVR) and tricuspid interventions soon. The hospital is part of a collaborative structural heart team across six sites, which regularly convenes to assess outcomes, share complex cases, and explore new devices and clinical trials.
Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Leadership & Program DevelopmentDevelop clinical protocols, guidelines, and best practices for structural heart interventions while fostering innovation and the adoption of new technologies and procedures.
Facilitate multidisciplinary heart team meetings and case selection conferences.
Oversee quality metrics and clinical outcomes, including the management of data collection and submission to national registries.
Attract and retain specialized members of the structural heart team, providing leadership and training opportunities for support staff.
Formulate strategic plans for program expansion, enhance referral networks, and collaborate with marketing for promotion and outreach efforts.
Work in partnership with members of the Cardiovascular Institute and other departments, as well as hospital administration.
Advance and support all facets of the academic mission, including training, education, innovation, and research.
