Pharmacist in Charge in Wichita Falls, TX

An immediate opening is available for a Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) to lead operations at a specialized, closed-door pharmacy inside a behavioral health hospital in Wichita Falls, TX. This role offers the opportunity to oversee a high-volume pharmacy focusing exclusively on behavioral health medications, operating through streamlined workflows and automation within a unique healthcare setting. The contract-to-hire position starts ASAP and involves managing a skilled team, ensuring efficient prescription fulfillment, and maintaining compliance in a focused, patient-centered environment.


Responsibilities include:

• Managing day-to-day pharmacy operations and staff supervision
• Overseeing medication distribution for behavioral health patients, ensuring accuracy and compliance
• Collaborating with hospital staff to support integrated pharmacy services
• Utilizing Enterprise RX software for prescription processing
• Implementing best practices in medication safety and workflow efficiency
• Maintaining regulatory compliance and pharmacy standards

Qualifications/Desired Experience:

• Current Texas pharmacist license (required)
• At least one year of PIC or pharmacy management experience
• Minimum of two years as a licensed pharmacist, with retail experience accepted
• Strong leadership and organizational skills

Schedule:

• Monday through Friday
• 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

This pharmacy dispenses only behavioral health medications and operates without administering vaccines, creating a focused yet dynamic work environment. With a script volume of 350-400 per day, this role requires a proactive pharmacist capable of balancing clinical accuracy with operational efficiency.
