Job Description and Responsibilities

TheraPeds Partners is seeking a dedicated Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) for a school-based opportunity in Williamstown, Kentucky . We are open to both full-time and part-time candidates for the 2026–2027 school year , making this a great opportunity for experienced professionals looking for flexibility while making a meaningful impact with students across Kindergarten through 12th grade .

Working alongside educators, families, and related service providers, you'll help students with visual impairments access their educational programs through specialized instruction, individualized support, and collaborative planning.

• Full-time or part-time opportunity
• Up to 37.5 hours per week
• 2026–2027 school year (August through May/June)
• On-site, in-person assignment
• Serving students in grades K–12

• Deliver specialized instruction designed to meet each student's unique visual, academic, and functional learning needs.
• Conduct educational assessments and use evaluation results to develop individualized recommendations.
• Develop, implement, and review Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) while coordinating case management responsibilities.
• Monitor student performance and modify instructional strategies to maximize progress and independence.
• Maintain accurate documentation, progress reports, and required special education records.
• Partner with teachers, families, therapists, and administrators to create coordinated support plans that encourage student success.
• Consult with classroom staff regarding accommodations, adaptive techniques, and instructional strategies that promote access to learning.
• Foster a positive, engaging learning environment that supports student confidence and participation.

• Collaborative support from both the school district and the TheraPeds team
• Guaranteed paid hours, including time for planning, documentation, and administrative tasks
• Flexible scheduling options with both full-time and part-time availability

• $65–$85+ per hour , based on experience
• Estimated weekly earnings up to $2,437–$3,187+ for full-time schedules (prorated for part-time hours)

Requirements

• Bachelors or Masters Degree or higher in Special Education
• Certification for Teaching Exceptional Children – Visually Impaired, Grades Primary through 12.
• 1+ years of experience in a school setting preferred
• Experience working with visually Impaired children
• Organizational and time management skills
• Proficient in use of technology
• Fingerprint background clearance
• Ability to collaborate with school staff and parents with a demonstrated ability to exercise a high level of tact and discretion in both internal and external communications

Physical Requirements

Working and playing with students requires that employees must be able to perform the necessary physical movement functions, as needed, such as lifting, sitting, walking, standing, crawling, and engaging with students in all physical locations and activities, while adhering to the duties outlined by the district.
