Ultrasound Technologist

The Ultrasound Technologist will be responsible for performing diagnostic ultrasound examinations, providing high-quality images to assist in patient diagnosis and treatment. This role requires attention to detail, technical expertise, and a patient-centered approach to ensure optimal care and comfort during procedures. Key Responsibilities Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures, including abdominal, obstetrical, gynecological, vascular, and musculoskeletal exams based on physician orders. Operate ultrasound equipment to produce high-quality images, ensuring proper positioning and technique. Prepare and educate patients about procedures, addressing questions and ensuring comfort. Review and evaluate images for clarity, quality, and diagnostic value, making adjustments as needed. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to discuss imaging results and provide diagnostic support. Maintain accurate patient records, including exam documentation and imaging results. Ensure equipment is maintained, calibrated, and complies with safety standards. Stay updated on ultrasound technology advancements. Adhere to hospital, departmental, and regulatory policies, including HIPAA. Qualifications Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or related field. Current certification through ARDMS or equivalent (e.g., RVT, RDMS). Current BLS certification. Experience 1-3 years of clinical ultrasound experience preferred but not required. Proficiency in ultrasound equipment operation and sonographic procedures. Skills and Abilities Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to assess and respond to patient needs. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Physical ability to stand, lift, and operate equipment. Physical and Mental Requirements Ability to lift and push up to 50 pounds.
