Opportunity Overview

Our College of Medicine, in collaboration with the Children’s Hospital, is on the lookout for a Pediatric Pulmonologist to become part of an expanding academic division poised for substantial growth. This role presents a unique chance to influence the future of pediatric pulmonary care while developing clinical programs that align with your passions.

As a faculty member in the Pediatrics Department, you will deliver inpatient consultative services and outpatient pulmonary care, educate medical students and residents, and engage in a vibrant academic setting. Whether your focus is on cystic fibrosis, sleep medicine, home ventilation, asthma management, bronchoscopy, research, or program development, leadership is dedicated to creating a practice that meets your professional aspirations. The division currently provides ample protected time and flexibility aimed at promoting both career satisfaction and work-life harmony.

• Support from research coordinators, biostatistical resources, and internal funding
• Approximately 20% of time allocated for academic and administrative duties
• Option for a four-day clinical workweek

The Pediatrics Department comprises 19 pediatric subspecialty divisions and more than 145 faculty members committed to advancing pediatric care, education, and research.

The Children’s Hospital is the largest pediatric facility in Central Illinois, featuring 136 beds, over 140 pediatric specialists, and more than 40 pediatric subspecialties. The hospital provides extensive clinical resources and promotes multidisciplinary collaboration across various specialties, including neonatology, pediatric critical care, gastroenterology, neurology, and otolaryngology.
