IT Support Technician

Job Title

This position provides technical support for the MLC, assisting both internal agency staff and public libraries throughout the state.

About the Position

This position focuses on troubleshooting technical issues of moderate complexity, supporting technology infrastructure projects, and assisting with network and technology assessments in public libraries. This technician will also support E-Rate Category 2 technology upgrades, assisting with network infrastructure deployments. The position requires familiarity with networking hardware, workstation deployment, general IT infrastructure, and will work closely with MLC IT staff to implement technology projects, maintain documentation, and ensure reliable technology services for Mississippi libraries.

Successful candidate is a team player, have a good attitude, are willing to learn and grow, have an attention to detail. Must be proficient in using Office 365 products. Preferred qualifications typically require high school diploma or high school equivalency and relevant technical knowledge, an understanding of office automation and office systems operating environments and/or complex communication devices and 1-3 years of end user support experience. Agency preferred qualifications: May require a valid Mississippi driver's license.
