Momar is looking for a Logistics Manager!

About Momar
Momar, Inc. is a privately owned specialty chemical manufacturer based in Atlanta, Georgia, serving customers across the United States and around the world. We're looking for an experienced Logistics Manager to lead the safe, compliant and cost-effective movement of our products, including hazardous materials and dangerous goods, across our domestic and international distribution network. You'll own shipping and export logistics for multiple locations and every mode we use: parcel, LTL, truckload, bulk, rail, air and ocean. You'll also run freight bill audits and damage/loss claims, and oversee our small private fleets in Ohio and Wyoming. You'll lead a team of Logistics Coordinators and work closely with Operations, EHS, Sales, Customer Service and Finance.

What You'll Do

Logistics Operations

• Oversee end-to-end transportation of hazardous materials and dangerous goods, domestically and for export
• Lead, train and develop a team of Logistics Coordinators
• Help leadership negotiate and manage carrier contracts across all modes to get cost-effective, reliable service
• Build strong relationships with carriers, freight forwarders, 3PLs and other logistics partners
• Manage logistics across our full distribution network, including 3PL locations
• Oversee logistics of our private truck fleets in Ohio and Wyoming
• Schedule, dispatch and track domestic and international shipments, and release and track rail cars in transit across the U.S.
• Optimize routes and consolidate shipments to cut costs and improve efficiency
• Make sure shipping documents are accurate and complete, including bills of lading, export declarations and hazmat shipping papers
• Monitor shipments in real time and fix problems before they reach customers
• Track KPIs and report regularly on freight cost, carrier performance and on-time delivery

Freight Audit and Claims

• Audit freight bills to confirm accurate billing and adherence to contracts
• Resolve billing discrepancies with carriers and internal stakeholders
• Manage freight damage and loss claims from documentation and investigation through negotiation with carriers and insurers
• Work with Accounting and Finance to make sure freight is paid on time and accurately

Compliance and Safety

• Keep current with DOT (49 CFR), IATA, IMDG and other hazmat and dangerous goods regulations
• Partner with EHS to develop safety protocols, deliver hazmat training and reduce risk
• Represent logistics during regulatory audits and inspections

What You Bring

Required

• 5+ years in freight management and logistics, including hands-on work shipping hazardous materials/dangerous goods domestically and internationally
• Experience supervising and developing logistics or transportation staff
• Working knowledge of hazmat classification, packaging, marking, labeling and documentation across parcel, LTL, truckload, rail, intermodal, air, ocean, courier and USPS
• Solid grounding in international shipping, customs compliance and freight forwarding
• A track record of resolving complex freight claims, disputes and compliance issues
• Proficiency with TMS and freight audit tools and Microsoft Office
• Strong analytical, negotiation and communication skills, and the ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment

Preferred

• Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management or a related field
• Current hazmat/dangerous goods training or certification (49 CFR, IATA DGR, IMDG)
• Experience with rail car management and private fleet oversight

Physical Requirements
This role mainly involves office work, with frequent sitting, use of hands, reaching, bending, stooping, talking and listening. You must be able to lift and move up to 10 lbs. unassisted.
