Dietary Cook

Cook Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals according to planned menus, recipes, and established dietary guidelines.
• Assist with meal planning and food preparation to ensure meals are nutritious, appealing, and served on schedule.
• Follow residents' prescribed diets and special dietary requirements as directed.
• Coordinate with the Dietitian and dietary team to meet residents' nutritional needs.
• Ensure food is handled, stored, prepared, and served safely in accordance with food safety and sanitation standards.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen, work areas, and food preparation equipment.
• Monitor food supplies and assist with inventory and proper food storage.
• Work collaboratively with dietary staff to ensure meals are served efficiently and residents receive quality service.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or GED is preferred.
• Previous cooking or food service experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and proper food-handling practices is a plus.
• Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Dependability, attention to detail, and a commitment to serving our residents.
