Position: PACU RN

Location: City, State

We are seeking a dedicated PACU RN to join our team in the Outpatient Surgery Center. This position requires expertise in Phase I and II recovery, specifically with a strong background in ophthalmology.

Shift Details:

Shift Type: Day, 5x8-Hour (08:00 - 16:30)
Post Shift Call: Required from 18:00 - 21:00; frequency will vary based on departmental needs
Holiday Work: Must be open to working 3 out of 5 major holidays

Requirements:

Experience: Minimum 3 years in PACU required
Ophthalmology Experience: Required
Charting System Experience: Proficiency in Epic
Certifications: ACLS, BCLS, and PALS required
Licensure: Current state license required; compact license acceptable

Key Responsibilities:

Provide exceptional patient care in a fast-paced outpatient surgical environment
Monitor patient recovery and respond to any signs of complications
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
Educate patients and their families regarding post-operative care and follow-up
Assist in various surgical procedures within the scope of practice

Patient Care Details:

Patient Age Groups: Adolescents, Adults, Pediatrics, Geriatrics
Daily Census: Approximately 30 patients
Unit Capacity: 26 beds

Additional Information:

Staffing Ratios: Typically 1:2
Environment: Fast-paced outpatient surgery center
Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality patient outcomes
