The Opportunity: Pathway to Partnership

On behalf of our client, we are seeking a visionary leader to champion quality standards and drive operational excellence. For the right candidate, our client offers a clear roadmap to a non-equity partnership after three years . Additionally, this role features a highly lucrative 20% commission on all collected fees from new clients onboarded solely through your business development efforts.

Position Overview

As the Director of Quality Assurance, you will own the development, implementation, and maintenance of the firm’s financial reporting quality standards. You will bridge the gap between compliance and execution by overseeing a dedicated team, optimizing workflows, and managing client relationships.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Quality Assurance & Compliance Leadership

• Design QR Frameworks: Create and implement robust quality review standards and procedures for all audits, reviews, and compilations.
  
• Monitor Compliance: Review all staff-prepared financial engagements to ensure strict adherence to established firm QR standards.
  
• Regulatory Tracking: Evaluate newly issued industry standards and proactively coordinate updates for staff, managers, and partners.
  
• Peer Review Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact and lead strategist for the firm's external peer reviews.
  
• Internal Auditing: Conduct internal inspection processes, perform engagement reviews, resolve staff issues, and report findings to leadership.
  

Team Management & Training

• Talent Development: Manage and mentor a small, talented team of junior and senior accountants.
  
• Training Coordination: Design and deliver technical training programs for the firm's accounting staff.
  
• CPE Oversight: Review staff Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credits to guarantee compliance with firm and industry requirements.
  
• Workflow Optimization: Assist accounting managers with capacity planning and daily workflow management.
  

Client Relations & Business Growth

• Client Management: Maintain and deepen relationships with an assigned client portfolio through proactive communication.
  
• Technical Execution: Oversee and execute tax returns and financial statement preparation for your portfolio.
  
• Business Development: Identify and harvest new client relationships to leverage the 20% commission structure.
  
• Strategic Projects: Lead ad-hoc technical and operational projects as requested by the executive team.
  

Requirements

Qualifications

• Experience: 7+ years of progressive public accounting experience, with a heavy emphasis on audit, assurance, and quality control.
  
• Leadership: Proven track record managing, mentoring, and scaling accounting teams.
  
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  
• Certification: Active CPA license required.
  
• Tech Savvy: Strong proficiency in modern accounting/auditing software; experience recommending and implementing new tech tools is a plus.
