Job Summary
Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Medical specialty position available in a Level III Trauma Center's Intensive Care Unit. This role involves providing care to adult patients with a variety of critical conditions, utilizing telemetry, and working in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment. The position requires flexibility for rotating shifts and floating to medical/surgical units as needed, supporting a team of attendings and residents.

Job Details

• Schedule: 12-hour shifts, rotating between day and night shifts when needed, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Active Massachusetts Registered Nurse license; American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications; 2+ years of continuous adult ICU experience, preferably in a Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU); telemetry competency; minimum of 2 years of work experience in a single location.
• Preferred Qualifications: None specified.
• Float: Float rotation may be required, primarily to medical/surgical units, involving care for up to 4-5 patients.
• Additional Information: The unit is a 20-bed Medical/Surgical Intensive Care Unit caring for adult patients with diagnoses such as substance overdose, severe psychiatric conditions, DKA, sepsis, GI bleed, respiratory failure, cardiac arrest, renal failure, and cardiogenic shock. The ICU operates with attending physicians and residents present 24 hours a day, with charting completed using the EPIC electronic medical record system.
