Please complete an application to be considered for an Internship Position, anticipated start/fill date: Spring 2027 Position Description Position Summary The Estimating Intern is a supervised developmental assignment that introduces students or early-career candidates to construction bid preparation and estimating at Park. Working closely with Project Managers and Estimators, the intern supports quantity takeoffs, cost analysis, and proposal preparation on civil and industrial site work projects, with defined learning objectives and no independent bid authority. Essential Functions and Responsibilities Assist with bid preparation, including reviewing plans, specifications, and contract documents. Learn to perform quantity takeoffs and cost estimates using HCSS HeavyBid, Bluebeam, and Agtek. Support proposal submissions and the organization of bid documentation. Participate in site visits and pre-bid assessments. Help gather and compare subcontractor and vendor pricing. Assist with preparing bid packages and reviewing project scope. Support project handoff meetings between the estimating and project execution teams. Help analyze cost trends and historical bid data to support estimating strategies. Assist with tracking bid schedules and submission deadlines. Support communication with clients, engineers, and subcontractors during the bid process. Help maintain organized and accurate bid files and documentation. NOTE: This position is classified as Safety Sensitive. Position Requirements Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of basic construction plans, specifications, and contract documents. Knowledge of the fundamentals of construction estimating and the bid preparation process. Skill in MS Office, with a willingness to learn HCSS HeavyBid, Bluebeam, and Agtek. Skill in analyzing cost trends and comparing subcontractor and vendor pricing. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines. Ability to communicate professionally with clients, engineers, and subcontractors. Ability to apply strong analytical and problem-solving skills to bid preparation tasks. Ability to maintain strong attention to detail and accuracy in bid documentation. Ability to travel to job sites as needed. Education and Experience Required: Actively pursuing a Bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field; no prior experience required. Preferred: Prior coursework or exposure to estimating, plan reading, or construction cost analysis. Physical Requirements Combines office-based estimating and administrative work with occasional presence on active construction sites during pre-bid assessments and site visits, including walking uneven terrain and working outdoors in varying weather conditions, with required use of PPE during site visits. Specific physical demand frequencies are to be confirmed. Work Environment Divides time between the corporate/project office and active Park construction project sites. This position is classified as safety-sensitive. Schedule and Travel Full-time or part-time seasonal schedule aligned with academic calendar and project needs; occasional local travel to job sites within the Fargo area.
