Join Our Team as an Occupational Therapist Job Description: - Are you ready to make a meaningful impact in the lives of patients? - We are seeking a passionate Occupational Therapist to provide exceptional therapy services to our outpatient populations. - This role offers the chance to: - Conduct thorough patient evaluations and assessments. - Create individualized care plans that address the cognitive, physical, emotional, and developmental needs of each patient. - Lead a growing elbow/wrist/hand program with extensive referral support from local providers. - Collaborate with a mentor who has over 25 years of experience in hand therapy. - Utilize a diverse range of therapeutic treatments to restore function, relieve pain, and prevent disability. - Document all patient care activities in an electronic medical record system. - Educate patients and their families about treatment plans and procedures. - Enjoy a dynamic work environment where your skills are valued and utilized. Essential Functions: - Obtain and document thorough patient histories and current statuses. - Develop and administer comprehensive treatment plans. - Continuously assess and adjust treatment plans as needed for optimal patient outcomes. - Utilize physical agents and assistive devices to enhance patient recovery. - Provide direction and support to assisting staff in delivering quality occupational therapy care. - Monitor the safety and effectiveness of patient care equipment. - Efficiently organize and manage daily workloads. Education & Experience: - Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy accredited by the American Occupational Therapy Association preferred. - Active or eligible for a Washington state Occupational Therapist license. - Experience in outpatient care is preferred. - Familiarity with hand therapy and splinting is an asset. - Ability to work with patients across all age groups. Physical Requirements: - Occasional standing, walking, lifting, and bending. - Capacity for heavy physical work, lifting up to 50 pounds. - Manual dexterity and good eyesight necessary for patient assessments. - Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with healthcare teams and patients. Note: Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (HCP) level certification to be completed within 3 months of hire.
