Details Work in the Medicine Step Down unit of a hospital setting Care for a variety of medical patients with conditions ranging from simple to complex Night shift schedule 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week, 36 hours per week Requirements Active RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or current multistate compact RN license (eNLC) Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association ACLS certification required NIHSS certification required Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience required Solid and consistent experience in a stepdown/PCU unit required Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred Willingness to precept new nurses preferred Additional Information Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients and deliver competent nursing care Document patient responses to nursing interventions and treatments, noting changes in physician orders Assist physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures and treatments Obtain and monitor physiological data, observing and intervening on physiological changes Administer medications and initiate, regulate, and monitor IV infusions and blood products Communicate care plans with patients and families during hospitalization and at discharge Inform patients and families of hospital procedures and make appropriate referrals for care needs Delegate tasks to support staff as needed Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for this position Compliance documentation must be completed promptly, as start dates cannot be pushed once booked Returning workers may extend only once for a total of 26 weeks, after which a 6-month separation is required before reapplying American Traveler Job ID P-747078.
