Working as part of SCADD's multidisciplinary team and reporting to the Nurse Manager, you will serve as a primary nurse for individual clients — coordinating their care, responding to their needs, and helping guide them toward health and recovery.Responsibilities include:Perform initial nursing assessments and document ongoing client assessments in response to treatmentPerform client admissionsDevelop, implement, record, and evaluate nursing care plans according to the age and specific needs of each clientParticipate in and supervise nursing care, providing direct physical care measures as neededAct as a primary nurse, working with individual clients and coordinating their treatmentExecute the medical regimen of care as prescribed by the physicianEducate clients and families toward an understanding of health, illness, and plans for post-discharge careRespond to medical and psychiatric emergency needs of clientsParticipate in the orientation of new employees and the transfer of knowledge necessary for the performance of dutiesWhat You'll Need:Associate degree in nursing or a related health care field; or six months to one year of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experienceCurrent State of Connecticut Department of Public Health Registered Nurse License requiredCPR Certification requiredAbility to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, external health care providers, clients, and familiesStrong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present information clearly in one-on-one and group settingsExcellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize critical tasks in a fast-paced environmentCommitment to SCADD's values of diversity, equity, inclusion, and trauma-informed practiceWhy SCADD?Since 1966, SCADD has remained at the forefront of substance use disorder treatment, continuously evolving to meet the needs of individuals, families, and communities across Southeastern Connecticut.
