YOUTH SERVICES LIBRARIAN

Job Description:
The Youth Services Librarian oversees services, collections, and programming for children and teens while supporting overall library operations. Responsibilities include reference and reader's advisory services, collection development, inclusive programming, outreach public relations, and community engagement. The position leads OFPL's annual Summer Reading Program and collaborates with staff, schools, caregivers, and community organizations to develop responsive and innovative library services. The Youth Services Librarian serves as a member of the OFPL supervisory team and contributes to staff training and evaluation. This position works collaboratively with all library departments and may be assigned to work at any library location. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Library Director and Deputy Director and requires frequent interaction with staff, community members, partner organizations, and professional groups. This position requires flexible schedule including evenings and weekends, in support of public service hours and special events. Additional Information:
STARTING HOURLY PAY: $32.55 p/h

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATION:
- ALA accredited Master's Degree in Library and Information (MLIS)
- Two (2) years professional experience developing and managing programs and services for children and young adults.
- One (1) year of experience in collection development
- Valid Driver's License Must meet City's insurability requirements.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Supervisory experience Experience with audio-editing
- Experience with video-editing Experience with marketing public relations and social media to promote library programming
- Experience in STEAM programming
- Experience working in a Maker's Space
- Experience coordinating and/or working with teen volunteers
