Hospital Practice Manager Wanted for Brand-New Hospital in Glenview, IL

Pet Hospital of Glenview , a brand-new veterinary hospital opening in Glenview, Illinois, is seeking a full-time Hospital Practice Manager to help launch and lead our new practice.

This is a unique opportunity for an experienced veterinary leader who is excited about building something from the ground up. Our Practice Manager will work closely with the Medical Director to build the hospital team, establish a strong culture, develop efficient hospital operations, and drive the growth of the practice from opening day forward.

Our ideal candidate is a reliable self-starter who works well with others, enjoys developing people, and is comfortable leading through the fast pace and change that comes with opening a new hospital. Applicants must be highly organized, detail oriented, and able to balance day-to-day hospital operations with the bigger picture of growing a successful practice.

The candidate is expected to be proficient in:

  • Leadership and team development: Ability to hire, onboard, coach, and develop a strong hospital team while creating a positive and accountable workplace culture.
  • Analytical skills: Strong ability to analyze information quickly and efficiently as it relates to hospital operations and financial performance.
  • Strategic planning: Ability to contribute to financial forecasting, marketing plans, staffing strategies, and long-term plans for the growth of the practice.
  • Decision-making: Ability to make sound decisions, solve problems, and confidently address important operational and people-related matters.
  • Communication: Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, with doctors, hospital staff, and clients.
  • Resourcefulness and adaptability: Ability to take initiative, get things done, and adapt quickly as the hospital grows and priorities evolve.
  • Compliance: Ability to understand and manage important veterinary hospital compliance regulations, policies, and operational requirements.
  • Planning and prioritization: Ability to organize work efficiently, establish priorities, and develop plans and timelines for achieving hospital goals.
  • Growth mindset: Excitement around building a client base, developing community relationships, identifying opportunities, and helping a new hospital grow.
About Pet Hospital of Glenview

Pet Hospital of Glenview will be a brand-new veterinary practice serving Glenview and the surrounding North Shore communities.

We are building a hospital focused on providing high-quality, compassionate care to dogs and cats while creating an environment where our doctors and team members genuinely enjoy coming to work.

The Practice Manager will play an important role before and after opening, including helping recruit and onboard the founding team, establishing hospital workflows and standards, partnering with the Medical Director, building relationships within the community, and helping create the culture of the hospital from day one.

Given the location and surrounding community, we anticipate growing into a busy practice. We are looking for someone who can build strong relationships with staff and clients, has a passion for veterinary medicine, and is energized by the opportunity to help grow a new hospital.

Qualifications
  • Veterinary practice management or veterinary leadership experience is strongly preferred.
  • A bachelor's degree in business, health science, or a related field is preferred but not required.
  • At minimum, five years of direct management experience, including at least two years of supervisory experience, is preferred.
  • Certified Veterinary Practice Manager (CVPM) or Master of Healthcare Administration (MHA) is preferred but not required.
  • An equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and relevant experience may be considered.
  • Experience with opening, growing, or significantly developing a veterinary practice is a plus.
