Nurse Practitioner - Full Time

Job Summary The Nurse Practitioner is an Advanced Practice Practitioner who is accountable for a defined patient population. Functions as an expert practitioner, consultant, educator, patient advocate, care coordinator and researcher within a specialized area of practice. The role provides direct or indirect patient care using the medical model within scope of licensure and in accordance with applicable law, regulations, and VCH policies. Some positions require on‑call duty as per hospital needs. Upon acceptance, candidates must submit Scope of Practice and other credentialing information to the Medical Staff Office. Qualifications Education Master’s Degree in Nursing (required) Program Graduate of a Nurse Practitioner program (required) Licenses and Certifications RN – Registered Nurse License – CA-BRN (required) NP – Nurse Practitioner License – CA-BRN (required pending credentialing) NP‑C – Nurse Practitioner National Certification – NCC required within six months of hire BLS – Basic Life Support – AHA within 30 days of hire (required) Work Experience Minimum one year related experience (required) Minimum five years increasingly responsible experience in pediatric nursing (preferred) Skills and Abilities Bilingual skills preferred To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
