Instrumentation Technician

PGS Worldwide is seeking an Instrumentation Technician in Stratford, CT for a contract role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. In this role, you will support Engineering Flight and Ground test operations by performing strain gage installations on aircraft and facility components. The position requires experience with strain gage measurement systems, instrumentation wiring, and Wheatstone bridge methodologies across a variety of metal and composite materials.

Required Skills

• Equivalent of 4 years high school and 2 years engineering college or technical school
• Minimum 5 years of experience performing strain gage installations and instrumentation work
• Knowledge of strain gage Wheatstone bridge wiring methodology
• Experience applying gages to aircraft and facility components made from metals and composites
• Experience with surface preparation, strain gage measurement, layout, alignment, and bonding
• Experience with measurement systems, instrumentation wiring, and documentation
• Experience wiring strain gages to measure torque, axial load, bending, and shear strain
• Flexibility to support overtime, extended, and modified shift requirements

Preferred Skills

• Fluency and experience with Micro-Measurements techniques and procedures

What You'll Do

• Perform strain gage installations to support Engineering Flight and Ground test operations
• Apply strain gages to aircraft and facility components
• Complete surface preparation, layout, alignment, and bonding activities
• Wire strain gages using Wheatstone bridge methodologies
• Support measurement and instrumentation systems used for torque, axial load, bending, and shear strain analysis
• Maintain required documentation related to instrumentation activities
