Sr Surveillance Infrastructure Technician

Under the guidance of the Surveillance Technical Manager, the Senior Surveillance Infrastructure Technician provides strategic and operational leadership within the team, acting as a mentor and support for management, overseeing training and guiding the team through complex challenges. This role is responsible for making timely decisions that impact systems design, system performance, team efficiency, project deadlines, and regulatory compliance requiring the ability to assess site conditions, determine appropriate installation methods, and make real‑time decisions that ensure system integrity and long‑term reliability. With a blend of technical expertise and strategic insight, the role ensures surveillance systems remain secure, compliant with Tribal, state, and federal regulations, and capable of supporting uninterrupted gaming operations. and mitigating operational shutdowns. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Executes installation and configuration of surveillance system components including cameras, servers, network switches, storage devices, wireless devices, equipment racks, cabinets, environmental monitoring tools, and weapons detection systems. Dresses, terminates, tests, certifies, and labels various cable types such as Category cable, fiber, and coaxial. Installs and manages cable pathway systems including conduit, cable trays, racks, J-hooks, and D-rings. Participates and leads the team in installation, configuration, monitoring, maintenance and troubleshoot surveillance system components, including but not limited to equipment racks, cabinets, cable management devices, cabling infrastructure, cameras, camera mounts, public view monitors, license plate readers, environmental monitoring devices, Wi‑Fi wireless equipment, mobile camera units, solar panels and batteries, mobile network switches, and weapons detection systems. Completes detailed documentation of installations, configurations, and testing results is maintained to support compliance, auditing, and future scalability. Scope includes installation, repair, and maintenance of surveillance systems across various properties owned and operated by the Tribe. Leads team in preparing and deploying cabling infrastructure installing, terminating, fusion splicing, testing, certifying, dressing and labeling multiple types of cabling such as fiber optic cables, category cable, multi‑conductor, coaxial cables and power cables. Ensures exceptional cable management leveraging, systems such as conduit, mounting boxes, cable trays, cable racks, J‑hooks, lacing bars, and D‑rings to support an organized scalable infrastructure. Reviews work orders processed by the team for quality assurance. Processes work orders, documenting work performed and provides accurate daily and/or weekly status reporting. Provides feedback and/or solutions to projects, tasks and technical, physical installation or mechanical challenges. Conducts routine and emergency maintenance on all surveillance department systems. Diagnoses and resolves outages, technical issues, quickly assessing situations to determine appropriate, effective responses, while maintaining sound judgment. Operates equipment such as man lifts, Ariel boom lifts/trucks, utility vehicles, and enterprise vehicles. Uses tools including but not limited, ladders, power tools and various hand tools. Maintains accurate inventory of all surveillance system components. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams such as IT, DPS, Facilities or vendors to ensure seamless integration across diverse environments. Adheres to safety protocols and industry standards as work is performed in a variety of settings, including professional offices, active construction zones, and regulated gaming environments. Reviews and stays current on the Surveillance Department Manual (SDM), San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission Regulations, Casino policies and procedures, and applicable Federal, State, and Tribal regulations by completing required training, monitoring updates at least quarterly and applying this knowledge to ensure compliance in YSMN operations. Responds to enterprise technical support requests on an on‑call basis, ensuring availability and resolution of critical issues 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS High School Diploma or GED required. Minimum two (2) years’ experience in one or more of the following areas: Surveillance Technology, Information Technology (IT), Low Voltage Systems, Surveillance Systems Technical Support, IT Data Center Operations, Proficiency in server operating systems, Problem‑solving, Access Control Systems, Audio/Visual, or any related technical field required. Vocational/Technical certification(s) in Low Voltage, Surveillance Technical, Information Technology (IT) infrastructure, physical security or related field is required. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSA) PC literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office is required. Must possess, or be able to attain, skills to operate equipment such as man lifts, aerial boom lifts/trucks, ladders, hand/power tools, and utility trucks is required. Must have the ability to multi‑task and prioritize effectively in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment with demonstrated organizational and time management skills. Proven commitment to working in a team environment with a capacity for self‑direction, and a strong willingness to learn new technologies. Ability to read and understand blueprints and schematic diagrams. Must have the ability to read, write, and speak English for safety purposes. Must be personable and professional, capable of using caution and discretion in communication. LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS AND REGISTRATIONS At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission, you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license. Must hold or be able to obtain within 1 year from date of start in department, Certified Fiber Optic Installer (FOI) certification required. Must hold or be able to obtain within 1 year from date of start in department, Genetec beginner and advanced certification required. Vocational/Technical certification(s) in Low Voltage, Surveillance closed‑circuit television (CCTV), Information Technology (IT) infrastructure, physical security or related field preferred. CompTIA A+ (various) or equivalent Certification preferred. Authorized Driver: Role requires operation or driving of Tribe‑owned vehicles or driving patron vehicles. A valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record as determined by the insurance carrier is required. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ WORKING CONDITIONS – ENVIRONMENT The physical demands and working environment described here are representative of those that an employee encounters and must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Primary work environment is in a climate‑controlled office setting or outdoors and possibly inclement weather. Work requires travel to attend meetings, trade shows, and conferences. Incumbents may be required to work evening, weekend and holiday shifts. Must be able to work in a fast‑paced, high‑demand environment. Strength sufficient to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects and/or move up to 40 pounds occasionally. Sedentary work: involves sitting most of the time. Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer. Physical activities that apply to the essential functions of the position are balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions. Hearing sufficient to hear conversational levels in person, via videoconference and over the telephone. Speech sufficient to make oneself heard and understood in person, in front of groups, in meetings, via videoconference and over the telephone. Visual acuity that meets the requirements of the position: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; expansive reading and visual inspection of employees, visitors or facility. Mobility sufficient to safely move in an office environment, walk, stoop, bend and kneel, and enter, exit and operate a motor vehicle in the course of travel to promotional events, meetings, conferences, trade shows and San Manuel properties. Endurance sufficient to sit, walk and stand for extended periods, and maintain efficiency throughout the entire work shift and during extended work hours.
