Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN)

Location: Carlsbad, NM

Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule: Night shifts from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM with floating and call requirements.

Job Description: The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Emergency Room is responsible for providing high-quality care to patients in a fast-paced environment. The RN utilizes the nursing process in accordance with the state Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies, demonstrating critical thinking skills and scientific judgment.

Responsibilities:

• Perform thorough patient assessments and effectively communicate findings.
• Administer medications safely and monitor for side effects.
• Maintain clinical competencies through continuing education.
• Delegate patient care priorities while supervising assigned personnel.
• Ensure adherence to safety standards, infection control, and quality improvement initiatives.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• 2+ years of nursing experience in Emergency Department.
• Current RN license in the state of New Mexico.
• ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, and ENPC certifications required; NRP preferred.
• Compliance with fingerprinting requirements for New Mexico travelers.
