Clinical Laboratory Technologist - Microbiology

Labcorp seeks a Clinical Laboratory Technologist for its microbiology department in Mobile, Alabama. The role involves performing diagnostic testing procedures, operating laboratory instrumentation, and ensuring specimen quality and accurate result reporting on an evening shift schedule.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate specimen acceptability according to established quality standards
- Perform routine and complex technical procedures following departmental protocols
- Monitor, operate and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation
- Execute preventative maintenance and quality control documentation procedures
- Report accurate test results in timely manner to support patient care
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology
- Minimum one year clinical laboratory testing experience or MLS degree
- ASCP or AMT certification preferred
- Proficiency with computers and laboratory information systems
- Ability to pass standardized color blindness test
- Physical capability to meet job demands and flexibility for overtime
