Assistant Nurse Operations Manager (ANOM)

Arnold Palmer Hospital is currently seeking for an Assistant Nurse Operations Manager (ANOM). The Assistant Nurse Operations Manager (ANOM) is responsible for the management of their designated unit/department, including nursing practice and administrative oversight of the area. In conjunction with the Unit/Department Nursing Operations Manager, the ANOM provides guidance and direction on all aspects of unit operations including customer experience, budgetary performance, human resources activities, shared leadership, and quality outcomes.

The Pediatric Cardiac ICU staff provides optimal care to patients with congenital heart defects and heart disease with varying levels of acuity. Care is provided to critically ill cardiac patients with the need for establishment of an adequate airway, adequate balance of fluid/electrolytes, hemodynamic and cardiovascular stability. This includes preoperative and postoperative repair of congenital heart defects, diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterizations, cardio pulmonary bypass, ECMO, dialysis, and medical management of all stages of heart disease.

Responsibilities include shared 24/7 accountability with Nursing Operations Manager, participation in recruitment and selection of new team members, coordination with Human Resources on corrective action and career advancement, investigation of event reports, oversight of schedules, maintenance of patient flow, nurse leader rounds and reviews, participation in process/quality improvement initiatives, upholding the customer experience, interfacing with patients and families, participation and/or leadership in staff meetings, GEMBA board, or huddles, direct patient care activities, excellent interpersonal skills, respect for the rights and privacy of others, completion of incident reports, maintenance of regular attendance, and compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.

Qualifications include a Bachelor in Nursing Degree (BSN) or Bachelor in Nursing (BSN) with Graduate degree in Business or health-related field preferred, current licensure as a registered nurse in the State of Florida or Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC), current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, one or more of the following certifications based on the assigned patient population: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), and Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC), and 2 years as a Registered Nurse in an acute setting.
