Registered Nurse - Infusion

Job Description

Job Summary:

RN - Infusion / Chemo Nurse provides safe, high-quality infusion and chemotherapy administration within established protocols. The role ensures patient readiness, accurate medication handling, and close monitoring for adverse reactions.

Responsibilities:

• Administer chemotherapy and other infusion therapies according to provider orders and oncology treatment protocols.
• Assess patients prior to treatment, including vital signs, symptoms, and treatment readiness.
• Verify medication, dosage, and patient details using required safety checks and documentation standards.
• Monitor patients during infusions and respond promptly to infusion-related reactions or complications.
• Maintain accurate nursing documentation and communicate changes in condition to the care team.
• Support patient education on treatment processes, side effect management, and when to seek urgent care.

Qualifications:

• Hold an active NYS Registered Nurse license.
• Maintain an active ONS provider card.
• Demonstrate at least one year of experience administering chemotherapy.
• Exhibit strong knowledge of oncology infusion safety, aseptic technique, and adverse reaction monitoring.
• Prove proficiency with electronic documentation and adherence to clinical protocols.
• Show readiness to provide bi-campus coverage as required.
