Are you the person everyone turns to when a construction project's certified payroll has to be right, complete and submitted on time ?

We're recruiting confidentially for a growing Southern California construction organization seeking an experienced Certified Payroll & Labor Compliance Specialist to take ownership of critical labor compliance activities across active projects.

This isn't a general payroll position.

We're looking for someone who understands the world of construction labor compliance, prevailing wage, certified payroll, apprenticeship requirements and deadline-driven reporting and can confidently keep multiple projects compliant from startup through completion.

You'll work closely with internal operations, payroll and accounting teams while managing labor compliance requirements associated with construction projects.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing, reviewing and submitting weekly certified payroll reports
• Managing California DIR reporting and related compliance documentation
• Preparing and tracking DAS 140 and DAS 142 apprenticeship documentation
• Maintaining fringe benefit statements and other required labor compliance records
• Preparing recurring union reports and supporting documentation
• Reviewing project-specific labor requirements, including applicable PLA/CWA provisions
• Tracking subcontractor certified payroll and outstanding compliance documentation
• Identifying discrepancies and following through until they are resolved
• Supporting owner, agency and customer compliance reviews and audits
• Participating in project startup or pre-construction meetings to identify labor requirements early
• Maintaining organized, audit-ready project records
• Managing multiple weekly and monthly compliance deadlines simultaneously

These responsibilities closely reflect the California construction labor-compliance market, where certified payroll, prevailing wage, apprenticeship documentation and DIR compliance are core functions.

We're especially interested in someone with 2+ years of construction-industry experience involving certified payroll and labor compliance .

• LCPtracker, eComply or similar compliance platforms

You'll also need strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills, exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple hard deadlines without losing track of the details.
