Support the care team by performing clinical and administrative tasks that are vital to patient care.   High School Diploma or GED required.

  Completion of an accredited program recognized by the US. Dept. of Education in Medical Assisting, or 2 years of verifiable full-time experience as a Medical Assistant within the last 5 years

  Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) needs to be obtained within 45 days unless department leader has determined it is not required.
  
  

What Will You Do:

*Positions are primarily Monday through Friday- full time.

As a key member of the ambulatory care team, you will:

  Welcome patients and support their transition into care.

  Take and record vital signs, medical histories, and health screenings.

  Prepare patients for exams and assist providers during procedures.

  Administer medications and vaccines as directed.

  Perform lab-related tasks including specimen collection and point-of-care testing.

  Document care accurately in the electronic health record.

  Partner with physicians, nurses, and teammates to deliver high-quality, coordinated care.
  
  

  
  

About This Location:

The Cardiology Clinics based at Auroras St. Lukes Medical Center offer a blend of world-class clinical reputation, fast-paced hands-on experience and competitive benefits. This specialized clinic is recognized for its expertise in heart care and serves as a major center of excellence for advanced cardiovascular technologies. *Some positions may require occasional travel to clinics in the Greater Milwaukee area.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

• 
  Must sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, crawl, kneel, climb, and reach above shoulders throughout the workday.
  
  



• 
  Ability to lift 35 pounds without assistance. For patient lifts over 35 pounds, or when patient is unable to assist with lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other team member, when available.
  
  



• 
  Unique patient lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case- by -case basis.
  
  



• 
  Must have functional speech, vision, hearing, and touch with ability to use fine-hand manipulation skills.
  
  



• 
  Will be exposed to the following hazards on a frequent basis: mechanical, electrical, chemical, blood and body fluids. Will be required to wear protective clothing and equipment as needed.
  
  



• 
  Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job.
