The Assistant Residence Manager's specific duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Train, supervise, and direct DSP staff while on shift, including reporting personnel-related issues to the Program Manager and/or program administrationProvide training and assistance to residents to develop and/or improve personal care skills and independent living skillsDevelop, coordinate, and provide opportunities for social and recreational activitiesProvide supervision to residents at the IRA and in the community as appropriateTrain residents in money management, including budgeting, banking, and making appropriate purchasesManage residents' personal allowances in accordance with agency financial proceduresIntervene in crisis and/or emergency situations as needed following agency policyProvide first aid as needed in accordance with accepted practicesEnsure compliance with medication administration procedures and documentation by certification, policy, and requirementsSupervise the diet and nutritional needs of each residentProvide or arrange transportation as neededAccompany residents to medical appointments, including completing required documentation and follow-upMaintain cleanliness of the IRA and its contents as instructed by the supervisorConduct fire drills, complete required documentation, and report any evacuation or equipment issuesParticipate in a rotating on-call schedule, including providing coverage on site or responding to emergencies as requiredRequirementsAssociate's degree with two (2) years of experience working with the OPWDD population preferredOR a combination of education and experience that meets or exceeds program standards as determined by the reviewing agencyValid driver's license acceptable to the agency's insurance carrier
