Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced IT Systems Administrator to join a critical infrastructure initiative for Sparton. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, maintaining, securing, and integrating on-premise network and server environments. The role involves consolidating Logos Networks and VMware servers, transitioning them into Sparton’s Hyper-V environment, and aligning network protocols between the two organizations.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and configure new IT infrastructure environments (networks, servers, systems).
• Consolidate VMware-based Logos infrastructure and transition it into Sparton’s Hyper-V ecosystem.
• Align and sync all protocols and standards from Sparton to Logos systems.
• Manage and maintain company-wide computer networks, ensuring security and reliable performance.
• Configure and administer network devices including switches, firewalls, routers (Cisco, Fortigate, etc.).
• Monitor ingress and egress network traffic to ensure data and system security.
• Troubleshoot hardware/software issues; escalate and resolve problems affecting critical systems.
• Partner with systems administrators and helpdesk to maintain server health and application performance.
• Provide infrastructure documentation, implementation planning, and support for upgrades or new deployments.
• Support helpdesk escalation as Tier 2/3 technical expert.

Required Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship is required due to contract compliance.
• 2-year degree in Computer Science, IT, Networking, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5+ years of experience in network and systems administration.
• Certifications preferred: Cisco (CCNA/CCNP), Microsoft, or similar.
• Strong hands-on experience with:
• Cisco iOS, Fortigate Firewalls (or equivalents)
• VMware (setup, management, migration)
• Hyper-V (Sparton’s current platform)
• Network security tools and monitoring
• Scripting and automation tools (PowerShell, Bash, etc.)
• Deep understanding of network protocols, system architecture, and IT operations best practices.
• Demonstrated experience developing and implementing strategic IT infrastructure projects.
