Construction Superintendent
$90k - $125kGardner Builders
At Gardner, we believe commercial construction should feel as welcoming as it is professional. That’s why we don’t just build and remodel — we build relationships, rooted in hospitality. Our mission is to set the platinum standard for our clients, partners, and team members by delivering exceptional results while embodying our core values: passion, humility, excellence, empathy, and nimbleness. We bring a hospitality‑driven approach to every project, ensuring that every interaction is thoughtful, responsive, and human‑centered. As Superintendent, you may work across any of our market focuses, including Healthcare, Commercial Interiors, Industrial, Higher Education, Historical/Repositioning, Mission‑Critical, and/or Life Sciences. Who You Are You’re a hands‑on leader who thrives in the field, keeping people and projects moving forward with confidence, clarity, and care. Relationships are the core of your work. You serve as the trusted advisor and liaison for our clients, providing hospitality at every step of the process. You’re calm under pressure, quick to solve problems, and great at bringing people together. You set a high bar for craftsmanship, safety, and collaboration, and you expect the same from everyone around you. You believe that success on a jobsite is about more than just checking off tasks—it’s about building trust, staying organized, and leading by example. You enjoy coordinating moving parts and motivating teams to deliver quality work on time and on budget. Most importantly, you’re energized by watching a plan come to life. How You’ll Contribute As a Superintendent at Gardner Builders, you'll be the on‑site lead for construction operations—balancing the details, managing field teams, and serving as a point of connection between trade partners, clients, and your internal project team. From the start of a project through closeout, you'll be responsible for: Leading and coordinating daily site operations across multiple projects. Managing schedules, sequencing work, and ensuring progress aligns with project goals. Maintaining a safe, clean, and organized jobsite. Driving quality by proactively identifying and resolving issues before they become problems. Communicating with trade partners, field staff, and project managers to ensure alignment. Hosting weekly foremen meetings to keep everyone informed and on track. Ordering materials, scheduling inspections, and maintaining accurate records. Acting as a visible, responsive, and reliable presence on site. Jumping in as needed to solve problems quickly, professionally, and collaboratively. You’ll also be a role model for safety and hospitality, setting the tone for a positive, productive jobsite culture. What Success Looks Like You’ll know you’re succeeding when: Jobsites are safe, organized, and on schedule. Communication flows clearly between field and office. Team members feel supported, informed, and engaged. Trade partners trust your leadership and value working with you. Clients are impressed by the smooth execution and the way your team shows up. What You’ll Bring 5–10 years of experience as a superintendent in commercial construction. Strong knowledge of construction sequencing, trade scopes, and site logistics. Familiarity with healthcare, commercial interiors, industrial, higher education, historical/repositioning, mission‑critical, and/or life science construction. A humble, team‑oriented approach and the ability to manage several tasks at once while keeping a cool head. Confidence in reading plans, coordinating teams, and adapting to change. OSHA certification. Proficiency with scheduling software, construction platforms like Procore, Google tools, Microsoft Office tools, and Apple devices. Ability to maintain a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record. What Will Set You Apart Experience in drywall, finish carpentry, or millwork. Experience scheduling integrated teams using OTB scheduling software (or similar, e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, etc.). Experience leading integrated teams on complex renovation projects.li> Deep knowledge of safety protocols and permitting processes. A proactive, problem‑solving mindset—and a calm presence when things get tough. Compensation & Benefits Annual Salary: $90,000 - $125,000 annual salary (paid weekly) + discretionary bonus. Comprehensive Benefits: Health, dental, vision, HSA with employer contribution, and 401k plan with employer contribution. Ancillary Benefits: Company paid basic life & AD&D insurance, company paid long‑term disability, company paid employee assistance program, accident insurance, and critical illness insurance. Perks: Company vehicle, paid parking, company‑provided phone and laptop. Work‑Life Balance: Generous paid time off, paid sabbatical leave, paid bereavement leave, paid parental leave, and regular company and team outings. Physical Demands & Work Environment This role is active and hands‑on. You'll spend most of your time on construction sites, walking on uneven surfaces, climbing ladders, crouching, kneeling, and occasionally lifting materials. You’ll need clear vision, good hearing, and strong communication to stay safe and effective. Some desk time is required for updating schedules, reviewing plans, and sending project updates. You’ll work in a mix of environments—from climate‑controlled buildings to outdoor sites in all kinds of weather. Renovation projects may involve exposure to existing materials or conditions that require extra precautions. PPE is provided and expected when needed. Sites can be loud, dusty, and fast‑paced, and we count on our superintendents to lead with safety and professionalism. Reasonable accommodations are available to support individuals with disabilities in performing the essential functions of the role. #J-18808-Ljbffr
