Shift SupervisorShift Supervisor Employment Type: Full-Time FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt Compensation: $18.00 Department: Operations / Work Release Program Reports To: Facility Director / Assistant Facility Director Location: Kissimmee, FL Travel Requirements: NonePosition OverviewThe Shift Supervisor serves as the acting facility lead during assigned shifts in the absence of the Facility Director and/or Assistant Facility Director. This role is responsible for overseeing daily operations within a secure work release environment, ensuring safety, security, and compliance with all applicable policies and procedures. The Shift Supervisor supports staff and clients while maintaining order, accountability, and operational continuity within the facility.Key ResponsibilitiesAct as facility supervisor during assigned shifts, ensuring smooth daily operationsEnforce policies, procedures, and emergency protocolsSupervise Corrections Technicians and coordinate shift activitiesMaintain safety, security, and welfare of clients, staff, and visitorsConduct facility inspections, client counts, and contraband searchesMonitor and document client movement, behavior, and complianceComplete incident reports, logs, and required documentation accuratelyConduct intake processing for new clients, including system entry and file creationMonitor client activities including meals, work assignments, recreation, and visitationIdentify and respond appropriately to medical or behavioral concernsMaintain professionalism and composure in high-stress or emergency situationsParticipate in required trainings and staff meetingsEnsure compliance with all safety and operational standardsRequired QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GEDMinimum of 4 years of experience working with incarcerated or criminal justice-involved populationsExperience in corrections, reentry services, behavioral health, or related fieldKnowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesStrong decision-making and problem-solving skillsAbility to manage high-stress situations with composureEffective written and verbal communication skillsAbility to interpret and enforce policies and proceduresStrong attention to detail in documentation and reportingTeam-oriented mindset with leadership capability during shiftsLicenses / CertificationsValid Florida driver's licenseMust pass background screening and receive approval from the Florida Department of CorrectionsPreferred QualificationsCollege coursework in criminal justice, criminology, psychology, social work, or related fieldPrior law enforcement or correctional supervision experienceAdditional training or certifications related to corrections or behavioral managementWork EnvironmentWorking within a structured, secure facilityExposure to potentially hazardous or high-stress situationsInteraction with individuals involved in the criminal justice system
