- Support physicians in delivering comprehensive patient care by anticipating needs and ensuring smooth workflow during examinations and treatments.
- Manage patient records, appointments, and insurance details meticulously to ensure accurate and efficient clinic operations.
- Uphold high standards of cleanliness and organization in exam rooms and supply areas, adhering to infection control protocols for patient safety.
- Demonstrate strict adherence to HIPAA guidelines to protect patient privacy and confidentiality, while remaining prepared to respond effectively to emergencies as they arise.
- Perform a wide range of clinical tasks including obtaining vital signs, assisting with minor surgeries, and conducting laboratory procedures in accordance with established protocols and best practices.
- Actively engage in patient education initiatives, providing clear instructions on home care strategies and proper use of assistive devices to promote optimal recovery and wellness.
- Remain flexible and responsive to evolving clinic needs, readily taking on additional responsibilities as delegated by supervisors to support the team and enhance patient care delivery.
- Education: High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED) required. Completion of a medical assistant diploma or certification from an accredited vocational institution, or completion of a medical assisting course at a community college is preferred.
- Experience: One year of recent experience working in a medical facility as a medical assistant preferred. Documented evidence of completion of an externship in a medical office is also desirable. Demonstrated proficiency in tasks such as taking vital signs, venipuncture, and injections is required.
- Demonstrates knowledge of the healthcare field, medical office protocols, and procedures.
- Proficient in performing medical assistance tasks accurately and appropriately.
- Exhibits diplomacy and tact in interpersonal interactions.
- Capable of recognizing and addressing patient education needs through effective communication.
- Quick to learn and retain information regarding patient care procedures.
- Maintains a pleasant and professional demeanor in a team-oriented environment.
- Skillful in planning, prioritizing, and completing delegated tasks efficiently.
- Shows compassion and empathy in interactions with patients and colleagues.
Salary Description
$19 - $26/hour, commensurate with experience
