Safety Specialist
Our client, a leading utility construction and infrastructure services company, is seeking a Safety Specialist to join their team. As a Safety Specialist, you will be part of the Safety Department supporting field operations and construction crews. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, attention to detail, and leadership/mentoring abilities which will align successfully in the organization.
Job Title: Safety Specialist Location: Hobart, IN Pay Range: $41.00 - $50.00/hr
What's the Job?
- Conduct regular jobsite inspections to identify unsafe conditions and work practices
- Enforce company safety policies and ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations
- Lead safety training sessions, onboarding, and toolbox talks for field personnel and subcontractors
- Investigate incidents and accidents, including root cause analysis and corrective actions
- Support equipment compliance, perform audits, and promote continuous safety and quality improvements
What's Needed?
- Bachelor's degree in Safety, Risk Management, Environmental Science, or related field, or equivalent work experience
- 3+ years of safety experience or 510 years of Foreman/General Foreman experience
- Knowledge of utility construction (natural gas, electrical, underground/overhead) preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills across all organizational levels
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer applications
