Key Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid Special Education Teacher certification (Virginia or Maryland certifications are eligible for DC reciprocity: -credentials)
• Experience teaching or supporting students at the middle school level (6th grade preferred)
• Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and compliance
• Excellent communication skills for collaborating with students, families, and interdisciplinary teams
• Comfort with a variety of instructional strategies to meet individual student needs
• Commitment to fostering a positive, growth-oriented classroom culture

Primary Responsibilities:

• Design and deliver differentiated instruction for 6th grade students with IEPs
• Develop, review, and implement IEPs in accordance with regulatory requirements
• Work closely with general education teachers and related service providers
• Track student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly
• Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and ongoing professional development
• Maintain an organized, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment
