Translation Review Specialist - Finnish [Remote]

This is a flexible, remote freelance opportunity focused on evaluating machine-translated Finnish content for accuracy and naturalness. You will compare source text with translations and assess whether meaning, grammar, and tone are correctly preserved. The work is light, task-based, and designed for consistency rather than creative rewriting. It is ideal for detail-oriented individuals with strong Finnish language intuition. You will contribute to improving the quality of language AI systems used at scale. The role requires focus, reliability, and the ability to apply structured evaluation guidelines. Scheduling is flexible, with a low weekly time commitment.

Accountabilities

In this role, you will assess and validate machine-translated content to ensure linguistic accuracy and natural flow in Finnish, supporting the improvement of AI-driven language systems. You will work independently on structured evaluation tasks while following clear guidelines and maintaining consistency across reviews.

• Compare source text and Finnish translations to evaluate meaning accuracy and linguistic quality
• Apply structured criteria (e.g., Pass/Fail, Yes/No) to determine translation quality
• Identify grammar issues, unnatural phrasing, or meaning distortions without rewriting content
• Follow evaluation guidelines precisely to ensure consistent and reliable assessments
• Support quality improvement of machine translation systems through accurate feedback

Requirements

This role requires strong native-level Finnish proficiency and the ability to evaluate language quality with precision and consistency. Candidates should be detail-oriented, able to follow structured instructions, and comfortable performing repetitive quality checks independently. Prior linguistic or translation experience is not required and is not preferred, as the focus is on natural language judgment rather than professional editing skills.
