Tech7 is seeking a versatile, highly collaborative Data Scientist to support both mission-critical technical research and development (R&D) and corporate pricing objectives. This unique role is expected to be split evenly (50/50) between technical data science development within an Agile/DevOps environment and quantitative pricing strategy/cost modeling for Federal Government bids. The role will initially be focused on pricing activities and then transition to more data science activities in the future, with the goal being a 50/50 balance, but flexibility is key to the success of this position.

The ideal candidate bridges quantitative problem-solving and business strategy, applying analytical rigor to national security data challenges as well as strategic capture and proposal efforts.

This role is hybrid located in Boulder, CO.

Primary Responsibilities

1. Data Science & Technical R&D (50%)

• Data Science Applications: Support the development, testing, and deployment of specialized data science applications supporting government R&D missions in an Agile/DevOps pipeline
• System & Digital Engineering: Translate operational and mission requirements into digital engineering and data-driven models to guide application development
• Performance Assessment: Build, integrate, and execute analytical tools to assess, baseline, and enhance software/application utility (e.g., exploitation of Overhead Persistent InfraRed data processing)
• Customer Collaboration: Work alongside integrated federal and contractor product teams to deliver high-impact technical solutions.

2. Pricing & Cost Analytics (50%)

• Cost & Pricing Modeling: Design, build, and maintain dynamic pricing models and analytical tools to support proposals across multiple contract types (FFP, CPFF, T&M, and IDIQ)
• Proposal & RFP Analysis: Evaluate solicitation requirements (RFPs/RFQs), build Basis of Estimate (BOE) frameworks, and ensure complete compliance with FAR, DFARS, and CAS standards when needed.
• Rough Order of Magnitude Support: Perform rate analysis and customer scope reviews alongside program and BD leadership to develop ROMs for customer delivery.
• Executive Briefings: Partner with Capture, Business Development, and Leadership teams to present cost/price models when needed, risk-adjusted profit analyses, and proposal narratives

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Economics, Finance, or a related quantitative field
• Experience: Minimum 5+ years of professional experience across data science, quantitative modeling, and federal cost/pricing analysis
• Technical Skills:
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and DevOps workflows
  • Advanced quantitative modeling skills (e.g., Python, R, and advanced Microsoft Excel modeling)
  • Understanding of federal government acquisition processes and proposal pricing principles
• Interpersonal Skills: Proven ability to manage multiple priorities independently, communicate complex technical and financial concepts to stakeholders, and work effectively in a team-focused, highly culture-centric environment

Please note that the salary information shown below is a general guideline only. Salaries are commensurate with experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. Annual Pay Transparency Range: $100,000 – $130,000
