About The Role The Material Handler is responsible for shipping finished goods and maintaining materials that support our customers and production lines. Duties involve stocking, cutting, shipping and/or moving finish goods and materials/supplies. Operates material handling and warehouse equipment in a safe and efficient manner. Shifts available Weekday Nights Monday - Wednesday and every other Thursday 6pm to 6am Weekend Nights Friday - Sunday and every other Thursday 6pm to 6am Responsibilities Assist with unloading and loading incoming and outgoing freight Obtains and moves finished goods and materials with the use of a RF scanner Identify and packages finished goods in the appropriate manner Use warehouse packaging equipment as needed Preforms cycle counts of warehoused inventory Ability to utilize cutting lines Maintain 5S standards Qualifications Understanding of basic math skills - adding, subtracting and measuring Basic computer skills Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in written format Ability to multi-task Ability to follow written and verbal instructions Ability to use judgement related to identifying potential safety hazards Physical Demands This position requires 20% clerical and planning and 80% material handling, warehouse equipment operations, and/or walking and assisting warehouse employees Work is primarily performed on the warehouse floor Eye and foot protection must be worn Lifting of weights up to 30 pounds may occur regularly, with a potential for lifting weights of up to 80 pounds on an occasional basis The physical demands of the position include climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, grasping, and eye/hand/foot coordination May stand or sit for prolonged periods of time. Education & Experience High School education or GED preferred.
