POSITION SUMMARY

The Graphic Designer is a key addition to the communications and marketing team in support of broad organizational goals. As a revenue-generating position, this role produces materials to drive fundraising and engage donors across all channels and to support strategic marketing communications for the Early Learning Center, East End Prep, and Explore! Community School. It also works collaboratively to communicate MOBC's direct services, programs, community events, and mission impact across digital channels while stewarding MOBC’s visual brand system.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Design fundraising appeals and donor engagement materials (digital and print) for annual campaign and special events, including managing printing and mailing logistics as needed. Design and/or collaborate on strategic marketing communications (digital and print) to drive enrollment for the Early Learning Center, East End Prep, and Explore! Community School. Produce digital graphics for to communicate impact stories, articles and insights, and news and events through MOBC’s content library, website, e-newsletters, and social media. Design and/or provide guidance to empower programmatic staff on client, caregiver, and public communications for MOBC programs and community events, including the Family Support Network, K-8 afterschool and summer camps, adult education and employment pathways, and the Academic Student Unions. Partner with the VP of Communications and Marketing to evolve the brand suite, strengthening integration between MOBC and its sub-brands and building consistent, meaningful brand patterns. Develop and communicate brand resources to MOBC departments and sites, equipping programmatic staff to produce on-brand materials independently.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Share responsibility for photography and video capture and editing. Create simple animations, such as end cards, as needed. Partner with the VP of Communications and Marketing to develop organizational guidelines for ethical AI use in design. Help build a consistent process for ethical client storytelling, including cases where a client hasn't given permission to use their name or photo. Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required. Education and Experience : Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or related fields 3-6 years of experience in graphic design for fundraising and development, donor engagement, enrollment marketing, social media and website content, and publications Experience with Adobe design suite and Canva Experience engaging communities of color and socio-economically disadvantaged communities The above qualifications express the minimum standards of education and/or experience for this position. Computer literate including familiarity with word processing, spreadsheet, database, desk top publishing software, email and the internet.
